Join our class and unleash your creativity!

Do you or your loved one love to draw—or do you just want to try something creative in a relaxed,

supportive setting?

Arts Academy at Memorial UMC offers drawing and painting classes for children, teens, and adults,

focused on hands-on learning in a fun, low-pressure environment. Whether your child is brand new

to art or has been drawing for years, they’ll build excellent foundational skills in drawing, painting,

color, and composition—while enjoying the creative process.

- Relaxed, encouraging atmosphere

- All experience levels welcome

- Real art techniques taught in an age-appropriate way

Classes meet weekly, and are designed to be relaxing, enjoyable, and hands-on. There’s no pressure

to be “good”—we focus on learning strong fundamentals in a supportive, low-key environment.

Whether students are brand new or returning to art after years, they’ll build real skills while having

fun.

Class Details – Spaces are limited!

 Adults Tuesday 2:30-4:30 $120 per month

 Teens 13-18 Tuesday 4:30-5:30 $80 per month

 Kids 6-12 Tuesday 6:00-7:00 $80 per month

About The Teacher

Meet our NEW art instructor Ken Jobe!

Kenrick Ashland Jobe was born in summit, New Jersey. Kenrick was raised by Martin and

Diana Jobe in South Orange New Jersey, both of which are Guyanese immigrants. Kenrick

moved to Lexington, North Carolina at the age of 12.

Kenrick began drawing at a very young age. When he was a toddler he would make art with his

uncle. From then all Kenrick always had a passion for the arts. He is a formally educated artist,

a graduate from East Carolina University who enjoys drawing, painting and doing digital

artwork. Kenrick has had his art work on display at Davidson County Historical museum,

Lexington City hall building and Sophie’s Cork & Ale wine bar.

Kenrick went on to work on his own business as a freelance illustrator. He has designed

apparel, several book covers, and done artwork for several professional athletes through out

his career. Kenrick enjoys tapping into many different avenues in the art world so subject

matter and medium is important to him. He is a part of the nonprofit Arts Davidson County and

has used his passion for art to improve and inspire his community through the organization

Available Art Classes

Kids Art Class

Art Class for Kids: Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm. This weekly one hour class focuses on drawing with charcoal and pencil, and painting with pastels and acrylic. Have fun while learning lots of new skills! Price is $80/month.

Adult Art Class

Adult Art Class. Tuesdays 2:00-4:00 pm.
This weekly, 2 hour class focuses on drawing with charcoal and pencil, and painting with pastels and acrylic. Have fun while learning lots of new skills!

Price is $160/month.

Private Music Lessons

Currently, we are offering private music lessons in Piano, Guitar, Mandolin and Ukulele. All ages are welcomed to sign up for lessons.

Price: $100/month for weekly 30 min lessons

Here at The Arts Academy at Memorial, we strive to provide affordable and quality art classes and private music lessons to all ages in our community!

We currently have private music lessons for guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and piano.

We also have art classes for kids and adults that focus on drawing with charcoal and pencil, and painting with pastels and acrylic.

No matter your age or ability level, everyone is welcome to sign up!
